Social Media has drastically changed the recruitment industry; agents lost their grip on job seekers as professionals began appearing online.
In 2009 I founded Winning Impression when I saw that there was little help around for companies who wanted to learn how to use social media to recruit or for job seekers who wanted to know how to open hidden job opportunities.
Since its inception, I have become a speaker, trainer and writer on the use of social media for recruitment and job search, drawing on experiences gained in over 10 years in the recruitment industry and over 7 years of using social media to hire.
Companies learn how to incorporate social media into their recruitment strategy. I break social recruitment down into social sourcing, social distribution and employer branding, and through a range of bespoke or workshop training I show HR and in-house recruiters how to recruit the best people directly. After training they know how to use social media to their best advantage whilst saving time, money and frustration.
I give job seekers clarity and empower them with the skills to use social media proactively in their job hunt. Contract or permanent, they learn the tricks needed to showcase their skills online, network effectively, blast away job search blues, and grasp the controls of their job search.
I regularly speak at industry events, including for the Recruitment Society and at the Social Media in Recruitment and Recruiting Through Social Media conferences. Feedback, slides and more can be seen here.
I love writing about social recruiting, it's ever changing and exciting. There's plenty to see here on the blog and I've been thrilled to be asked to write for Work4, HR Zone and Jobsite. I also conduct video interviews for Computer Weekly's Women in Tech series, aiming to showcase the variety of jobs available and to encourage more women into the industry.
I have extensive experience in the full recruitment life cycle, both externally and internally, hiring IT & Engineering professionals across many industry sectors.
I like to walk my talk, falling in the top 1% of most viewed LinkedIn profiles in 2012.
I am an Aussie Brit adopted by London; owned by my Chocolate Labrador and Springer Spaniel, the regular subjects of my excessive Instagram use!
