Where do you look for a job?

During lunch today, Mervyn Dinnen and I had a lively conversation about the Social Recruitment bubble we work in. We exchanged stories of the puzzled looks we receive when we explain that our careers are in Social Media and giggled at the disbelief that others show when they hear that we actually make a living from all this “online stuff”.

What really surprised me was hearing just how many people Mervyn knows who do not use Online Job Boards when looking for a role. This, to us, is ironic when he works for Jobsite, a leading UK job board, as their Content & Community Manager and has responsibility for their internal and external social media, tweeting and blogging.
